Press Release Body = ROCHESTER HILLS, MI (September 8, 2006) - Israel\'s removal today of the air blockade over Lebanon signals an excellent opportunity for businesses in the Middle-Eastern nation. An international naval force will be in place within 48 hours, at which time the sea embargo will also be lifted.
Hotels and restaurants not affected by the recent conflict are open for business and air traffic has already resumed to the Beirut International Airport. A Middle East Airlines flight from Paris was the first commercial aircraft to arrive, landing just after 6 p.m. local time.
Joyce Mouawad, Director of Marketing & Events for Monroe Hotels in Lebanon, says she will be "very honored" to welcome people back to Beirut.
The opportunities in Lebanon are significant as people begin to return to this popular tourist destination. All tourist related industries, including hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs, are prime investment opportunities. Also, excellent investment or commerce opportunities would be anything that will help rebuild Lebanon\'s infrastructure. This includes all aspects of construction and skilled trades.
"During our cultural tour at the beginning of July we learned that Beirut and its people are a vital global commerce resource," says William Kaafarani, President of Multicultural Business Council, a global organization that connects cultures through commerce. "In addition to their tourist industry, they have excellent opportunities for manufacturing operations."
MBC is working with the government of Lebanon in effort to clearly identify all of the opportunities now available for businesses around the world.
